Red ribbon week is the oldest and largest drug prevention program in the nation reaching millions of young people.
Butler Elementary School had their campaign October 6th through the 10th. The campaign had the kids doing different things all week.

My kids participated and we had fun doing it. Each morning we had fun getting ready for school and taking some pictures.
Then Friday afternoon Luanne Olsen, 48, and her 19-year-old son Jace Olsen were taken into custody at their home by the Cottonwood Heights Police Department.
“Beau Babka of the Cottonwood Police Department said officers found thousands of pills - including Oxycontin and Oxycodone - inside the house and tens of thousands of dollars in cash.”
Beau said they had been working on the case for more than a month.
This house was approximately 500 feet from the Butler Elementary School property.
When Community comes together these kinds of issues are easily dealt with.
This is another reason why Cottonwood Heights incorporated. We were not getting these kinds of services when we were being serviced by Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Department. They simply had higher priority areas to deal with. We do not have a lot of crime here and I guarantee we are going to have a lot less in the very near future. We have Police Officers at crossing Guards for the schools, drug bust…
I don’t want to paint a grim picture of Cottonwood Heights it has always been a great place it is simply getting better.
If you would like to say thanks to the Cottonwood Heights Police Department go ahead and leave a comment.
