Cottonwood Heights Brighton High School Late Start Proposal

Cottonwood Heights’ Brighton High School is seeking Board approval for a Late Start to the school day. An important element of the proposal is to have community input on the plan. Information about the Late Start is available on the school web-site, which unfortunately is currently under re-construction as part of the district change over from the Jordan School District to the New Canyons School District, but should be functioning by July 27. Also, to provide information to the public on this issue, a community discussion will be held at Brighton High School. The details are below.

Please invite those in your contact list to participate — even if they don’t have a student at Brighton at this time.

We hope you will take a few minutes to share your feelings on this issue.

Thank you for all you do and enjoy the rest of your summer!

Proposed Late Start Brighton Community Q&A Discussion
Thursday, July 30, 2009
5:00 pm – 6:30 pm
Brighton High School Media Center

Purpose:
For all parents and patrons of the Brighton Community to receive information and give input on a proposed plan to delay the start of the school day at Brighton High until 7:55 am. The Late Start will allow time for students to receive individual help from teachers as well as provide opportunities for the teachers to conduct Professional Learning Collaborative work. Please come to the discussion or complete the survey on the school web site (after July 27) to let your voice be heard.
