Is 6 Months Jail Enough for Cottonwood Heights Drug Dealers

by Rob Aubrey on May 30, 2009

I checked to see if the date was April 1st. Because Luanne Marie and Michael Dale Olson received only six months in jail. Six months! They told the judge that the reason they are scum bag drug dealers is because of a couple of accidents and then there was an addiction to pain killers.

When they were busted they found weed, heroin, OxyContin and oxycodone. I’m sorry this is a little further than a prescription addiction. This was a family selling drugs to kids as young as 17 years old according to Assistant Attorney General Lana Taylor.  There home was about 550 feet from an elementary school and about 4 blocks from a middle school and they are getting six months and with the possibility of getting out sooner with good behavior.

I don’t know about you but I am furious. I would like them to do a lot more time and the law would allow it. How about tar and feathering. How about putting them on a float for the Butlerville Days Parade and let everyone know who and what they are.

There is a lot more to just selling drugs as if we need more reason. Then there are car break-ins, house burglaries and other criminal activities. It is the root of many of societies ills and we should send a message. Sell drugs here and you will pay.

I think the judge and prosecutor owe the people of Cottonwood Heights an apology.

Below is a photo of a man in Ireland that was tarred, feathered and then tied to a lamp post. Got a feeling he won’t be selling drugs anytime soon and I am sure others won’t be either.
